Floruit | VII/VIII |
Religion | Christian |
Titles | Hypatos (dignity) |
Seal Sources | Schlumberger, G. Sigillographie de l'empire byzantin (Paris, 1884) |
Theodosios 38 was a hypatos; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh or eighth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 722 h (facsimile). Obv.: Αγι - α Τρια - ς, ο Θ(εὸ)ς η - μων. Rev.: Βοηθ - η Θεοδο - σιω υπ - ατω. These texts occupy the centre of the seal; around the perimeter there was a circular legend on both obverse and reverse of which a few traces survive but not enough to decipher the text; Schlumberger suggests that it was perhaps a verse from a psalm.
