Theodosios 9 was bishop of Sebasteia in Armenia Secunda; he subscribed the statement of the faith condemning monotheletism, which was produced by the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) in 681; he is not attested as present at any of the eighteen sessions, but his name leads a group of nine bishops whose signatures to the faith end the list of those who subscribed; he is styled Θεοδόσιος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Σεβαστηνῶν μητροπόλεως τῆς δευτέρας τῶν Ἀρμενίων ἐπαρχίας: Riedinger, p. 796, lines 12-13 (= Mansi XI 653). In the old Latin version printed in Riedinger his see is called "Sebastiae metropoleos secundae Armeniae regionis": Riedinger, p. 797, line 13 (= Mansi XI 654). He was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1, signing on behalf of himself and the bishops under him: Riedinger, p. 892, lines 15-16 (= Mansi XI 689) The reading πρώτης is given by Riedinger at p. 892, line 15, but in his apparatus he records the (presumably correct) reading δευτέρας found in two manuscripts.
