Theodoros 322 was bishop of Harran (Carrhae), known as Abu Qurra; he was visited at Harran by the caliph al-Ma'mun 1 and they engaged in a long dispute about Christian beliefs, which was subsequently written down; this encounter is dated to the year 1140 Sel. and AH 214 (i.e. 829): Chron. 1234, ยค211 (II, pp. 22-23). Cf. further ODB III, p. 2041, with references; he was born between c. 740 and 750 and died between 820 and 825.
