Theodoros 211 was a taxiarches and kandidatos; owner of a seal of uncertain date, possibly ninth or tenth century; his family name was "Me.ias", perhaps Melias: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 9, 224a. The names and titles read: Θεοδώρῳ ταξιάρχῃ [καὶ κ]ανδιδάτῳ [τ]ῷ Με[λ]ίᾳ. The restoration of the last word is not certain; if Melias is correct, Theodoros 211 was probably of Armenian origin and either identical with or a descendant of the Melias who served under Leo VI (see ODB s.v. Melias); if so, he lived in or after the tenth century.
