Theodoros 101 was an apo eparchon and eparch of Italy; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh century: DOSeals I 2.2 = Zacos and Veglery 2923. Obv.: [Θ]εοτ[ό]κε βοή[θ]ει. Θεοδώρου. Rev.: ἀπὸ ἐπάρχω[ν] καὶ ἐπά[ρ]χου Ἰτα[λί]α[ς ]. On the titles, see Nesbitt and Oikonomides, DOSeals, note ad loc. Another similar seal owned by this man, possibly from the same boulloterion, is Schlumberger, Sig., p. 211, no. 1 (= Laurent, Vat. 99) (there appear to be two specimens of this, one in Milan, the other in the Vatican; see Schlumberger's n. 1 on p. 211) = p. 514, no. 2. Obv.: Θεοτ - οκε βοη - θει Θεο - δωρου. Rev.: απο ε - παρχων - και επαρ - χου Ιτα - λιας. The opinion of Schlumberger and Laurent that the office should be read as exarch rather than eparch is to be rejected; cf. Nesbitt and Oikonomides, DOSeals I, pp. 16-17, note.
