Theodoros 37 was bishop of Pompeioupolis in Paphlagonia; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at two of the last three sessions (sessions sixteen and eighteen, on 9 August and 16 September): Riedinger, pp. 686-824 (= Mansi XI 613-674). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Θεόδωρος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος Πομπηϊουπόλεως (so Riedinger, p. 784, line 22 (= Mansi XI 645); Riedinger, p. 824, lines 34-35 (= Mansi XI 673) reads: τῆς Πομπηϊουπολιτῶν πόλεως) τῆς Παφλαγόνων ἐπαρχίας: Riedinger, p. 784, line 22, p. 824, lines 34-35, cf. p. 893, line 22 (= Mansi XI 645, 673, cf. 693). The old Latin version printed in Riedinger calls his see "Pompeiopoleos Pamflagoniae regionis": Riedinger, p. 785, line 23 (= Mansi XI 646). In the lists of those present at each session he is styled Θεοδώρου ἐπισκόπου Πομπηϊουπόλεως: Riedinger, p. 686, line 21, p. 756, line 27 (= Mansi XI 613, 628). He was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1: Riedinger, p. 893, line 22 (= Mansi XI 693). His name occurs in the list of bishops printed in Riedinger, p. 736, line 9 (= Mansi XI 696).
