Symbatios 6 was a patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and domestikos of the Exkoubita; owner of a seal dateable to the middle or late ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 2403. The name and titles read: [Συ]μβατίῳ πατρικίῳ, βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ δομεστίκῳ τῶν Ἐξκουβίτων. According to Seibt, the seal closely resembles palaeographically the seal of Marianos 4 (Seibt, Bleisiegel I, no. 34; cf. p. 125); the owner may therefore be identical with Symbatios 2 (brother of Marianos 4and of the emperor Basilios 7), but could equally probably be identical with Symbatios 1.
