Stephanos 65 was basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Hellas; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 168, no. 11 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 48. Obv.: patriarchal cross on three steps with the invocative formula Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: +Στεφάνῳ β(ασιλικῷ) (πρωτο)σπ[αθ(αρίῳ)] κ(αὶ) στρ(ατηγῷ) Ἑλλάδ(ος). On the date, cf.
