Stephanos 20 was bishop of the island of Paros; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last eight sessions (sessions eleven to eighteen, from 20 March to 16 September): Riedinger, pp. 408-828 (= Mansi XI 460-680). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Στέφανος ἐλάχιστος ἐπίσκοπος νήσου Πάρου: Riedinger, p. 794, line 16, p. 828, line 21 (= Mansi XI 652, 680). In the lists of those present at each session he is styled Στεφάνου ἐπισκόπου Πάρου: Riedinger, p. 408, line 1, p. 520, line 21, etc. (= Mansi XI 460, 521, etc.).
