Soterichos 2 was a patrikios; owner of a seal dateable to the early years of the ninth century (c. 805-815, Seibt): Seibt, Bleisiegel I, no. 139. Obv.: cruciform invocative monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with the legend τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: Σοτ - ηριχῳ - πατρη - κιῳ. In his commentary Seibt notes that the peculiar shape of the letter B on this seal is found also on the seal of a kommerkiarios dated to 810/811; see Zacos and Veglery 281. This Soterichos is not identical with Soterichos 6 (owner of a seal dateable to the mid eighth century). See also Soterichos 10.
