Smaragdos 1 was basilikos atriklines; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century (Zacos and Veglery), possibly to the late seventh or early eighth century (Seibt): Zacos and Veglery 1606B. The name and title read: Σμαράγδῳ βασιλικῷ ἀτρικλίνῃ. For Seibt's dating, see Seibt, Bleisiegel I, p. 146.
