Sisoes 1 was bishop (of an unnamed see); addressee of a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) written between 815 and 818; he challenged the arguments of an iconoclast and was thrown into prison, probably as a result: Theod. Stud., Ep. 234, pp. 368-369 (addressed Σισόῃ ἐπισκόπῳ). For a martyr, Sisoes, see Synax. Eccl. Const. 801ff., esp. 804, 48.
