Sisinnios 45 was basilikos proedros of Athens; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 53. The name and titles read: Σισ[ι]ννήῳ βασιλικῷ προέδρῳ Ἀθίνων. The civil title of proedros was created by the emperor Nikephoros II Phokas (963-969). However, the mention of Athens on the seal suggests that this appointment was ecclesiastical and that Sisinnios 45 was sent by an emperor to administer the see of Athens. Cf. ODB III 1727-8, s. v. proedros.
