Simon 3 was a Stoudite monk; mentioned in a letter of Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) to the monks Anatolios 3 and Sabbatios 1, written between 815 and 818; during the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15) he was apparently in their company: Theod. Stud., Ep. 164, pp. 285-286.
