Sergios 104 was a monk of the monastery of Pelekete, he was chosen by the monks to be their hegoumenos on the death of Anonymus 697; mentioned in a letter written in c. 823 by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) to the monks of Pelekete on this occasion (ᾑρετίσασθε ἑλέσθαι ποίμενα τὸν κύριον Σέργιον τὸν εὐλαβέστατον ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν, Theod. Stud., Ep. 501, p. 741, lines 11-13; at the time their former hegoumenos, Makarios 9, was still alive but living in exile; part of this letter is addressed to Sergios 104 himself; before becoming hegoumenos he had lived as a hermit in the mountains of Bithynia (κατεληλυθὼς ἐκ τῆς ὀπῆς τῆς πέτρας καὶ ἡγησάμενος τῶν ἀδελφῶν: p. 741, line 22); at the date of the letter his appointment had still to be confirmed by a bishop; he is addressed as ἀδελφὲ ἀγαπητέ (p. 741, line 21): Theod. Stud. Ep. 501, pp. 741-742 (addressed (Τῇ ἀδελφότητι τῆς Πελεκητῆς).

As hegoumenos of the monastery of Pelekete, Sergios 104 was the addressee of a separate letter from Theodoros 15; he was prevented from visiting Theodoros 15 by the tumult of civil war and an Arab invasion (the date was presumably therefore in 823); he is styled ἡ τιμιότης σου (Theod. Stud., Ep. 512, p. 761, line 2) and addressed as ἄνερ ἀγαθὲ καὶ ἀδελφὲ τιμιώτατε (p. 761, line 11) Theod. Stud., Ep. 512, pp. 761-762 (addressed Σεργίῳ ἡγουμένῳ).
