Sergios 96 was basilikos spatharokandidatos and droungarios of the Aigaion Pelagos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals II 40.10 = Zacos and Veglery 2360. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: + Σεργι - ω β' σπαθα - ροκανδ' και - δρονγαρ' - του Εγεου Π. The name and titles read: (Σεργίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ δρονγαρίῳ (sic) τοῦ Αἰγαίου Πελάγους).
