Sergios 88 was a silentiarios; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2357. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Χριστὲ βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Σεργιω - σιλεντ - ιαριω. The name and title read: Σεργίῳ σιλεντιαρίῳ.

He is possibly identical with Sergios hypatos and silentiarios, owner of a similar seal dateable to the same period: Zacos and Veglery 2353. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - δου - λω - σου in the corners. Rev.: +Σερ - γιω υπα - τω και ς - ιλεντι - αριω+. The name and titles read: Σεργίῳ ὑπάτῳ καὶ σιλεντιαρίῳ. Cf. Zacos and Veglery, Seals, p. 1288, for this identification. Similar seals were owned by Sergios 40 and cf. also the seal at Schlumberger, Mélanges, p. 266, n. 126.
