Salbentios 1 was patricius and strategos; owner of two seals dateable to the late seventh century or the early eighth; one seal is in Latin, the other in a mixture of Greek and Latin titles and characters: Zacos and Veglery 2918 (the name and title read: "Salbentio patricio", all in Latin characters), Zacos and Veglery 2919 (the name and titles read: "Salbentio patricio" καὶ stratηgo, all in Latin characters apart from και and the η). According to [Zacos and Veglery, Seals, p. 1655], the two seals belonged to one and the same individual. The mixture of Greek and Latin suggests that he was in office in the West.
