Sagoleva 3 is described as scriba (sic) (probably a scribon; see below); assisted by excubitors, he transferred pope Martin (Martinos 6) to the excubitor prison, the Prandearia, when Martinos 6 arrived at Constantinople on 17 September: Commemoratio 592D-593A ("a scriba, nomine Sagoleva"). After Martinos 6 had undergone bouts of questioning and been transferred to the prison of the prefect, the praitorion, he was collected from there by the "scriba" Sagoleva 3, taken to Sagoleva 3's house and from there sent into exile: Commemoratio 598C-599A. The word "scriba" is probably an error for "scribon", the title of a military official whose duties conformed to the actions of Sagoleva 3.
