Sabas 12 was hegoumenos of the monastery "ton Pissadon" (τῶν Πισσάδων); addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photios (Photios 1), written between 858 and 867, possibly between April 862 and April 866; he had been reconciled to Photios 1 after confessing that he had been in error, but was reported to Photios 1 by others as still holding his former opinions and as speaking against Photios 1: Photius, Ep. 15 (858/867; addressed Σάβᾳ ἡγουμένωι τῶν Πισσάδων).
