Sabas 9 was hypatos and archon of Cherson; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century (possibly the second half, according to Zacos and Veglery): DOSeals I 82.3 = Zacos and Veglery 2345 (and cf. Sokolova, "Pechati arhontov Hersona", p. 82, no. 1 and Sokolova, Monety, no. 1). Obv.: Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ δ[ού]λῳ σου. Rev.: Σάββᾳ ὑπάτῳ (καὶ) ἄρχοντι Χερσῶνος.
