Prokopios 1 was the envoy of Constans II (Konstans 1) to Mu`awiya 1 in 650/651; he negotiated a two-year peace: Theoph. AM 6142. In the year 964 Sel. (652/653) Gezirtha (Jazirah, i.e. Mesopotamia) was invaded by Habib (Abibus 1) and Prokopios 1 was sent to make peace with the Arabs: Pseudo-Dion., Chron., p. 152, 11ff. = p. 114.
