Plotinos 1 was a basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Hellas; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century (the iconoclast period) (but see below): Schlumberger, Sig., pp. 166-167, no. 4. Obv.: patriarchal cross, on four steps, with the legend Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: +Πλω - τινω β(ασιλικῷ) - (πρωτο)σπαθ(αρίῳ) (καὶ) - στρατη - γ(ῷ) Ἑλ(λάδος). Cf.
