Platon 12 was a gloriosus patricius; he and Eupraxios 1 advised the emperor Constans II (Konstans 1) that Olympios 1 should use the army of Italy to arrest pope Martin (Martinos 6) and promote monothelete doctrines there, immediately, if the army were agreeable, but if not, at a later date when he should have won over the army: Lib. Pont. 76. 4 ("quomodo nobis suggessit Platon gloriosus patricius, Eupraxius gloriosus"). The date was 649; see Olympios 1.
