Pinouphios 1 was a Stoudite monk; joint addressee with Mares 1 of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) written not before 799; he and Mares 1 had defected and were invited by Theodoros 15 to return; they had previously sent two letters to Theodoros: Theod. Stud., Ep. 20, pp. 53-54.
