Phokas 2 was basilikos spatharios and strategos of the Anatolikoi (Ἀνατολή); owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century (see below): Konstantopoulos JIAN 9, 146a. The name and titles read: Φοκᾷ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατιγῷ τῆς Ἀν.τολις. Undated by Konstantopoulos, the seal is assigned to the ninth century by Seibt, in Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 78.
