Philippos 15 was a Stoudite monk (ὁ ἀδελφὸς Φίλιππος: p. 140, line 15), mentioned together with Philon 1 as recently dead in a letter written by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) in 810/811; he suffered persecution while remaining loyal to Theodoros 15 and his cause (during the Moechian schism, in c. 809): Theod. Stud., Ep. 49, pp. 139-144.
