Philaretos 10 was a bishop, probably of Gotthia, mentioned in a letter of Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) written to the unnamed archimandrite of Gotthia (Anonymus 695) between 821 and 826; Philaretos 10 and the archimandrite Anonymus 695 were in dispute and Theodoros 15 wrote to them both on the matter (the nature of which is not made clear); the letter to Philaretos 10 is mentioned (but does not survive) (οὗ χάριν ἠναγκάσθημεν ἐπιστεῖλαι καὶ τῷ θεοφιλεστάτῳ πατρὶ καὶ ἀρχιερεῖ κυρίῳ Φιλαρέτῳ: p. 714, lines 14-15): Theod. Stud., Ep. 486, pp. 714-716 (Anonymus 695 is addressed as Ἀρχιμανδρίτῃ Γοτθίας).
