A Stoudite monk, Petros 129 was the addressee of two letters from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), written between 816 and 818: Theod. Stud., Ep. 205, pp. 327-328 (late 816/early 817); Ep. 353, p. 488 (a. 818) (both addressed Πέτρῳ τέκνῳ). He is mentioned in a further nine letters, written between 815 and 826: Theod. Stud., Epp. 60, pp. 171-172 (821/826); 109, p. 227 (815/816); 133, pp. 250-251 (spring 816); 206, pp. 328-329 (late 816/early 817); 207, p. 329 (early 817); 223, pp. 350-353 (mid/late 816); 225, pp. 355-359 (before September 816); 376, pp. 506-508 (early 818) and 526, pp. 784-785 (late 823/826).

Petros 129 was a relative of the patrikia Eirene 10: Theod. Stud., Ep. 526, p. 784, lines 3-4 (τοῦ ἠγαπημένου ἡμῶν ἀδελφοῦ κυρίου Πέτρου καὶ συγγενοῦς σου). He was related to the two unnamed patrikiai (Anonyma 86 and Anonyma 87) to whom Theodoros 15 addressed two letters, Epp. 206, pp. 328-329 (referred to as τοῦ ἰδίου σου, p. 328, line 4) and 207, p. 329. Possibly therefore of noble family; cf. Fatouros, p. 277*, n. 465. He was a friend of the hegoumenos Basilios 129 and informed Theodoros 15 of his repentance: Theod. Stud., Ep. 60, p. 171, line 5. He is addressed by Theodoros 15 as τέκνον μου ἠγαπημένον or similar: Theod. Stud., Epp. 205, p. 327, line 2; 353, p. 488, line 5. He is referred to as ἀδελφὸς or τέκνον and in several letters also as ἀββᾶς: Theod. Stud., Epp. 60, p. 171, line 5 (ἀδελφὸς); 109, p. 277, lines 19-20 (τὸν ἀδελφὸν ὑμῶν τὸν ἀββᾶν Πέτρον); 133, p. 251, line 27 (ἀδελφὸς); 207, p. 329, line 3 (τέκνου ἀββᾶ Πέτρου); 223, p. 353, line 80; 225, p. 359, line 121; 376, p. 508, lines 49-50 (all τὸν ἀββᾶν Πέτρον). He is also recorded in a sermon of Theodoros 15: Theod. Stud., Catech. Magna 111 (p. 817, ed. Papadopoulos-Kerameus).
