Petros 127 was a hesychast monk from the monastery of Heraklen (i.e Heraklion; cf. Makarios 5) in Bithynia; he became metropolitan bishop of Syllaion after the Triumph of Orthodoxy (in 843) (ἕτερον μοναχὸν μηκόθεν ἡσυχάζοντα, καὶ αὐτὸν Πέτρον καλούμενον, ἐκ τοῦ κατὰ Βιθυνίαν μοναστηρίου Ἡράκλην ὀνομαζομένου ὁρμώμενον, τὸν καὶ μικρὸν ὕστερον, Θεοῦ χάριτι γενομένης ὀρθοδοξίας, μητροπολίτην Συλλαίου γενόμενον: Sabas, Vita; τὸν ἁγιώτατον Πέτρον, τὸν νυνὶ μητροπολίτην τοῦ Συλαίου: Petrus, Vita); he visited St Ioannikios (Ioannikios 2) with Petros 126 and Ioannes 441 (apparently not long before 843; see above): Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 43, Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 68. He is probably identical with Petros 33.
