Petros 89 was basilikos ostiarios and (perhaps) protovestiarios(?) of the devout despot; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 446 (= Schlumberger, "Sceaux" I, 134 = Mélanges, p. 243). The name and titles read: Πέτρῳ β[ασιλικῷ] ὀστ[ιαρίῳ] καὶ αβεστ[ιαρίῳ] τοῦ φιλοχρ[ίστου] δεσπότ[ου]. If the date is correct, the title must be protovestiarios, since the protovestarches and the protovestiarites were not created until the eleventh century. However the words τοῦ φιλοχρίστου δεσπότου perhaps suggest a later date.
