Petros 85 was hypatos and archon of Hellas; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh or eighth century (so DOSeals) or to the eighth century (so Zacos and Veglery) or possibly to the late seventh or early eighth century (so Shandrovskaia and Sokolova, in Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 93): DOSeals II 8.2 = Zacos and Veglery 2300. The name and titles read: Πέτρῳ ὑπάτῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι Ἑ[λλ]άδος. Zacos and Veglery note that the archontia of Hellas should precede the creation of the strategia of Hellas (in 695), but that it is difficult to date the seal so early. Cf. Dargaskabos 1. See also the discussion on the title "Archon of Hellas" in Nesbitt and Oikonomides, DO Seals II, pp. 23-24.
