Petros 65 was archpriest ("archipresbyterus") at Rome; at the disputed papal election after the death of pope John V (Ioannes 31) in 686 Petros 65 was the preferred candidate of the clergy; the army preferred Theodoros 167, and eventually the clergy chose Conon (Konon 10) as a compromise candidate: Lib. Pont. 85. 1. Petros 65 probably died in 686 or 687, since in 687, after Konon 10 died, the archpriest was Theodoros 167.
