Petronas 17 was patrikios and komes of the theophylakton basilikon Opsikion; owner of seals, all from the same boulloterion, dateable to the eighth or ninth century: DOSeals III 39.33a, b, c (b = Zacos and Veglery 2603). Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .Πε - τρονα π - ατρικ' και κο - μ' του θεοφ - υλ' β' Οψι - κιου. The name and titles read: Πετρονᾷ πατρικίῳ καὶ κόμητι τοῦ θεοφυλάκτου βασιλικοῦ Ὀψικίου. Possibly identical with Petronas, patrikios and komes of the theophylakton basilikon Opsikion, owner of another seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: DOSeals III 39.34. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .... - ονα πατρ - ικ' και κομι - τ' του θ' β' Οψ - ικιου. The editors of DOSeals restore the name as Petronas because of the close resemblances between this seal and those above. The name and titles read: [Πετρ]ονᾷ πατρικίῳ καὶ κόμιτι τοῦ θεοφυλάκτου βασιλικοῦ Ὀψικίου.
