Petronas 16 was basilikos kandidatos and droungarios of the A...(?); owner of a seal dateable to the late ninth century or the early tenth: Zacos and Veglery 2314. The name and titles read: Πετρωνᾷ βασιλικῷ κανδιδάτῳ καὶ δρουγγαρίῳ τοῦ Α.... The interpretation of Α... is uncertain; Ἀριθμός is possible, and also Αἰγαῖον Πέλαγος.
