Paulos 73 was bishop of Nikomedeia; owner of seals dateable to the eighth century (according to Zacos and Veglery): Zacos and Veglery 2993a (= Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 122, dated to the tenth or eleventh century) and b. The text possibly reads: σφραγὶς προέδρου Νικομηδείας Παύλου. For similar seals, see Schlumberger, Sig. 246ff. and Laurent, Corpus V, no. 375 with V 2, p. 455 (reading: [Σφ]ραγὶς προέδρου Νικομηδείας). The reading Παυλου is doubtful; Zacos and Veglery as well as Laurent read the end of the text as πελω. Seals of this type are usually dateable rather to the tenth century or later.
