Paulos 72 was patrikios and genikos logothetes; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2292. The name and titles read: Παύλῳ πατρικίῳ καὶ γενικῷ λογοθέτῃ. This seal is dated to the twenties or thirties of the ninth century by Seibt, Bleisiegel, p. 323, and he suggests identifying this man with Paulos 35.
