Paulos 12 was bishop of Nomentum; he was one of the hundred and twenty-five Western bishops who attended the Council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger II 2. 144, lines 12-13 (= Mansi XI 301-302) (Παῦλος ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐκκλησίας Νομέντου; the old Latin version printed in Riedinger II 2. 145, line 11 names his see as "ecclesiae Numento").
