Pantherios 2 was patrikios and chartoularios of the Vestiarion; owner of two seals dateable to the ninth century, possibly to the second half: Zacos and Veglery 2282, Laurent, Vat. 84 (= Laurent, Corpus II, no. 694, assigned to the first half of the ninth century, = Szemioth and Wasilewski, "Sceaux byzantins", p. 29, n. 40). The text of Laurent, Vat. 84 reads: obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: [+Πα] νθιρ - ιω πατρικ - (καὶ) χαρτ' του - βεστ'. The name and titles read: Πανθιρίῳ πατρικίῳ καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τοῦ βεστιαρίου. The beta of βεστιαρίου is shaped like a Latin capital R, indicating a date not before the first half of the ninth century.
