Oportounos 1 was bishop of Anagnia (in Campania); he attended all five sessions of the Lateran Council, from 5 October to 31 October 649, and in the list of bishops present is named in seventy-ninth place: Conc. Lat., p. 6, line 8 (Ὀπορτούνου ἐπισκόπου Ἀναγνίας), p. 7, line 8 ("Oportuno Anagnino episcopo") (the first session), cf. pp. 35, 113, 181 and 251 (the Latin version only is repeated for the other sessions). He subscribed the definition of the faith agreed by the Council at its fifth session: Conc. Lat., p. 398, line 21 (Ὀπορτοῦνος ἐπίσκοπος Ἀναγνίας), p. 399, line 21 ("Oportunus episcopus sanctae Anagnine ecclesiae").
