Nikolaos 82 was basilikos kandidatos and protonotarios of the Optimatoi; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: DOSeals III 71.29. Obv.: patriarchal cross on four steps, with a circular inscription reading: Κε βοηθει τω σω δουλω. Rev.: +Νικο - λαο β' κα - νδιδ και α' ν - οταρ' τ' Οπ - τιματ'. The name and titles read: Νικολάο βασιλικῷ κανδιδάτῳ καὶ πρωτονοταρίῳ τῶν Ὀπτιμάτων.
