Nikolaos 63 was archbishop of Ephesos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century (DOSeals), possibly the first half (Laurent; Zacos and Veglery): DOSeals III 14.5b = Laurent, Corpus V 3, no. 1691 = Zacos and Veglery 2214. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Νικο - λαω αρχ. - επισκοπ. - Εφες.. The name and title read: Νικολάῳ ἀρχιεπισκόπῳ Ἐφέσου.

Probably identical with Nikolaos who was probably archbishop of Ephesos and was the owner of a similar seal dateable to the first half of the ninth century: DOSeals III 14.5a = Laurent, Corpus V 3, no. 1685, cf. Zacos and Veglery 2214. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει, with .ω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .Νικ. - .αω αρχι - επισκοπω - ..εσο.. The name and title read: Νικολάῳ ἀρχιεπισκόπῳ [Ἐφ]έσο[υ]. Laurent restored the place name as [Και]σ[αρείασ], but Zacos and Veglery, noting the similarity to Laurent, Corpus V 3, no. 1691, preferred [Ἐφέ]σ[ου], and cf. the reading in DOSeals III, loc. cit..
