Nikolaos 50 was basilikos spatharokandidatos and basilikos notarios of the idikos logos; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos, Seals II 248. Obv.: cross, with Χ at intersection, on base and three steps, with tendrils; circular inscription reading: +Κ(ύρι)ε....ει τω σω δουλω. Rev.: +Νικολα - ω β' σπαθα[ρ'] - κανδιδ' κα[ι] - β' νοταρ' τ. - ιδικ' λογου. The name and titles read: Νικολάῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ βασιλικῷ νοταρίῳ τοῦ εἰδικοῦ λόγου.
