Nikolaos 31 was hypatos and chartoularios of Kephallenia; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Schlumberger, Mélanges 12 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 112. The text reads: Νικο[λ]άῳ ὑπ[ά]τῳ [χ]αρτ' Κ[ε]φαλληνίας. Schlumberger interpreted χαρτ' as χαρτουλαρίῳ, probably rightly; Konstantopoulos understood it as χαρτοφύλακι. Possibly identical with Nikolaos 77.
