Niketas 78 was basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Hellas; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 9, 48a. The name and titles read: Νικη[τᾳ] βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρ[ατ]ιγῷ Ἑλλάδος.
