Niketas 63 was basilikos protospatharios and epi tes trapezes of the Augusta; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 600, no. 2 (no facsimile) = Mordtmann, Conference, p. 40. He was βασιλικὸς πρωτοσπαθάριος καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης τῆς θεοστέπτου αὐγούστης. Probably identical with Niketas Xylinites, who held these titles under Basil I (see PBE II) (cf. Winkelmann, Quellenstudien, p. 149 with no. 442).
