Niketas 58 was basilikos kommerkiarios of Hellas; owner of seals dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 169, no. 14 (with facsimile) (obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with the legend τῷ σῷ δούλῳ; rev.: Νικη - τᾳ β(ασιλικῷ) κο - υμ(ερκιαρίῳ) τῆς Ἑ - (λ)λαδος), Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 38 (the name and title read: Νικήτᾳ βασιλικῷ κουμερκιαρίῳ τῆς Ἑλ[λ]άδος). These appear to be two different seals, but the texts need to be directly compared). Cf. Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 124.
