Niketas 44 was archbishop of Nysa; owner of a seal of indeterminate date, probably between the seventh and eleventh centuries: Ebersolt, "Sceaux byzantins", p. 222, no. 299. Obv.: bust of St Nikolaos. Rev.: invocative formula and the legend [τῷ] σῷ δού[λῳ] [Ν]ικήτα [ἀρ]χιεπισκόπ[ῳ] Νύσης. There was one Nyssa in Cappadocia and another in Asia (in Lydia).
