Niketas 39 was basilikos strator and protonotarios of Thessalonike; owner of seals dateable to the early or mid ninth century: DOSeals I 18.59a = Zacos and Veglery 2275b, 59b = Zacos and Veglery 2275a. Both specimens are from the same boulloterion. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. The name and titles read: Nesbitt and Oikonomides date these seals to the first half of the ninth century because of the form of the letter B on the reverse (like a B, not an R).
