Nikephoros 31 was patrikios and strategos of the Boukellarioi; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century (under the iconoclast emperors): Schlumberger, Sig., p. 302, no. 4 (facsimile). Obv.: invocative monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with the legend τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. The restoration of the name is not certain; [Χριστο]φορῳ is also possible. Cf. also Nikephoros 48, for a similar seal.
